Schiavo Hospice CEO Determined to Corner The Death Market

June Maxam, publisher of the North Country Gazette wrote a profile of the controversial executive director of The Hospice of Florida Suncoast, Mary Labyak. Terri Schiavo lived at Hospice for six years.

" 'We've got to corner the market', Mary Labyak, executive director of The Hospice of Florida Suncoast told hospice employees at one of her monthly meetings. She was talking about the death market."

"...the hospice under CEO Labyak had been admitting ineligible people to the hospice and unlawfully billing the federal government for their care under Medicare."
