Schiavo Campaigns for Euthanasia Advocates
Topics: Politics
Michael Schiavo has hit the political campaign trail, taking aim at members of congress who stood up for his wife's life. At a recent event, Linda Evan Shepherd, the parent of a 20-year-old woman on life support had this to say:
"I mean he says rights of privacy for himself, but what about her (Terri's) mom?" said Shepherd.
"As a mom of a disabled adult, my heart went out to that family," said Shepherd.
Shepherd says Schiavo's story became the country's business in the name of a right for life.
As an international speaker, I have women roll up to me in their wheelchairs and say to me, 'I have brain damage too, and I'm afraid they're going to kill me next'," said Shepherd.
Despite his notoriety, I can't imagine that Schiavo's support will be beneficial to any campaign.
