Bobby Schindler at Steubenville this ThursdayTopics: Announcements
Bobby Schindler, the brother of the late Terri Schiavo, will be speaking at Franciscan University of Steubenville on Thursday, April 6 at 9pm, less then a week after the one-year anniversary of Terri's passing. Following Bobby's talk, Bobby will sign copies of "A Life that Matters," a book co-written by the Schindler family. The event is co-sponsored by Students for Life and College Republicans, two of the largest student clubs at Franciscan, and is expected to have hundreds of students, faculty, priests and religious in attendance as well as members of the public and media.
Bobby will speak to Franciscan students about the dangers of Euthanasia, activist judges, and pro-death doctors and lawyers in America's society today.
It will be Bobby's first visit to Franciscan, a conservative, Catholic college known for its pro-life activism. Every Saturday, an average of 150 students peacefully pray and sidewalk counsel outside of Pittsburgh area abortion clinics. Three abortion clinics in Ohio have been closed thanks to the efforts and prayers of Franciscan students.
Franciscan students also made national news in 2004 when over 500 students protested a John Kerry rally in Steubenville, where they peacefully held signs that read "You can't be both Catholic and pro-abortion."
Students or Life and College Republicans are honored to host Bobby at Franciscan, and hopes that his Christ-like example will serve as an inspiration to keep fighting to build a "Culture of Life" in today's society.
