I was 19 when I suffered a severe asthma attack, and entered the hospital "clinically dead". I was anoxic for 7 minutes and lapsed into a coma for 3 months. Doctors were urging my parents to pull the plug and find some redemtion by harvesting my organs.
I woke up and the doctors can only call my awakening a 'miracle.' They also said if I ever woke up, I'd be in a PVS forever. I returned to the university that I was forced to withdraw from and graduated in 2004 w/ a degree in Political Science. I am now enrolled for my MA in Theology at Loyola Marymount w/ an emphasis in Bioethics.
