Haleigh Poutre Update
Topics: Euthanasia
Gov. Mitt Romney's investigation:
Gov. Mitt Romney on Friday granted a two-week extension to a commission he appointed and originally gave 30 days to investigate how the state handled the case of an 11-year-old Westfield girl allegedly beaten into a coma by her adoptive mother and stepfather.

Haleigh Poutre has been in state custody since she was hospitalized in September, when authorities say she was beaten into a coma by her adoptive mother -- who later died in what authorities said was an apparent murder-suicide with her grandmother -- and stepfather.
About a week after taking custody, the Department of Social Services sought permission to remove her from life support when her doctors said she was in a persistent vegetative state.
This needs to stay in the public eye!
