Schiavo's parents to speak in Rockford

The parents who took the fight for their daughter's life to the Supreme Court last year will speak at a Rockford benefit.

Robert and Mary Schindler, parents of Terri Schiavo, are the guest speakers at the third annual Priest Appreciation Dinner, Friday, Feb. 24 at Clock Tower Resort, 7801 E. State St., Rockford.

The dinner is a semi-formal event sponsored by Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy, a Catholic school at 3218 11th St., Rockford. Proceeds will benefit St. Patrick Church and the Clergy Relief Fund.

The event begins at 4 p.m. with Latin High Mass at the Oratory of St. Mary, 517 Elm St., Rockford, followed by cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m., both at Clock Tower. Entertainment will be provided by the Rick Burns Trio, featuring Dorothy Paige-Turner. Tickets are $100 a person.
