I feel much empathy for both sides of this fight, but I feel the deepest sympathy for Terri. To be aware of the emotional strife that surrounds her would be absolutely excrucitaing. I am glad she is not aware of all that is happening. I would like to offer this thought. Why are we all so self involved. Why are people claiming to be religous in their concerns for Terri, when their concern is really for their own loss. If your basis for protest is truely in Gods name, then have some faith in him. Why deny Terri the ultimate gift of returning to her Father? How is it that people can justify denying Gods power by claiming to do it in his name? We treat suffering animals better than we treat those who we claim to love. In our selfish desire to hang-on to those we love and can't fathom living without, we deny their right to be rewarded in death by returning the God we claim to love more than any other. Give her reward for the suffering endured in this world. Give her the comfort of your loving God.

Please address how Michael has recieved 1.7 million dollars and squandered it! He has misused his power as guardian! Terri's rights have been violated by Judge Greer and Michael. She did not have a living will so there for her feeding tube must be restored.

Terri can not speak for herself, someone really needs to speak up for her! IF IT TAKES AN ACT OF CONGRESS TO DO THE JOB, THAT IS JUST WHAT IT IS GOING TO TAKE. This should have been a family decision but Michael and his dinwitted attorney have forced it into a bigger matter!

You're saying it's ok to be starved and dehydrated to death?

Spare me.

Posted by: Ruth at March 19, 2005 12:00 PM

We have heard nothing from the Carter Center or Libary re: President Jimmy Carter's position on this matter. He was president prior to the popularity of the culture of death in America.

He works for international human rights. Why the silence? He has not been silent on the death penalty.

The only contact information I have:
for the Carter Center and
for the Carter Library

Does anyone else have any other contact information?

Why is the media saying she has been without food only. Fox News just had a banner saying without food for 24 hours. It is without food AND water! Why is the media ignoring this part - that her husband will not allow any sustenance whatsoever. I don't get it. Please contact the media to persuade them to get the correct information to the public.

God be with the Terri, the family, and all those who are working so hard to save Terri's life.

E Cigala:

How in the world do YOU know she is not aware? This is the whole point: SHE IS AWARE! SHE IS ALERT AND RESPONSIVE! She feels and responds to pain! Where have you been? Why don't you EDUCATE yourself about Terri's condition instead of giving us your sanctimonious pleadings? Start here:

Two news stories are dominating the headlines: Terri Schiavo and Jessica Lundsford. I have heard the parents of both give impassioned cries about their daughters. One has already happened, one has just been ordered. One is from a crazed child molester and the other is from the order of a judge.

I can't help but respond to the passion from these parents.

I hope other parents are watching and that we can change this terrible situation for the better.

I just had CNN turned on. The lying husband was on and I was really angry. He's lying as usual saying its not about money (which he gave to the lawyer to KILL Terri!) and claims her father was upset he wouldn't get money (I don't know if that's true or not.) Why doesn' the Media question him about why he stopped her therapy. Or why she's going to be cremated. Or the fact that the Nobel Prize Nomineee who examined her for 10 hours says that she shows signs of a person who has been strangled? Why can't the media ask these questions?

I am still praying for Terri and her family (her parents and siblings, not that adulterous husband who I am sure is smirking at her pain).

I just watched the video on this site. Let 'er go.

It's wishful thinking to think that she's anything other than a total vegetable.

Posted by: brad at March 19, 2005 12:22 PM

My sister Nancy has been in a similar condition for over 2 decades. I have never met Terri but she seems to me to have the same kind of problems. She is severely disabled and has brain damage! She is not a vegetable. She is a living breathing human being!

If you don't have a living will you just can not kill! It is illegal. Judge Greeer and Michael need to be prosecuted .

Educate yourself about Terri's condition:

Terri is a precious human being. Terri is not an asparagus, or a carrot, or a squash. SHe is made in the image of God.

So tell me Elizabeth - how would you like to die by dehydration and starvation. The effects of dehydration will be felt soon, if not now. "Let 'er go" - I think you need to read the above link before you make a statement such as that. How about you have no water and food for 24 hours and then come back here and say, "let 'er go". It's amazing how people can believe their idea of "quality of life" is an acceptable reason to allow this travesty.

If the US Marshals will not enforce Congressional Subpoenas, then perhaps it is time for the Florida National Guard to do so.

According to the FNG History on its website: "Eighteen times between 1965 and 1985 the Guard was called for service in such situations. A few of those calls were precautionary; Guardsmen were employed to help plan for the contingency of violence, as during major rock music festivals, but most were calls to help quell major riots. The Liberty City riots of May 1980 required the deployment of thousands of Florida Guardsmen. Some rioters and looters died, and fires destroyed much private property. It is occasions such as these that a well trained and led Guard performs its most dangerous and necessary state function. And busy is hardly an adequate word to describe the Florida Guard’s state active service during the first half of the year 1980. Never, in any state at any time, has a state National Guard performed so much active state duty, computed as man-days of service, as the Florida National Guard between January and July of 1980, during the Cuban refugee boatlift and the Liberty City riots."

Riots? Boat Lifts? Rock Music Festivals? Then why not have THEM enforce the Congressional Subpoenas if the US Marshal Office will not?

Call or email Governor Bush right now

It is obvious that the great American System has utterly failed Terri. The system is corrupt beyond hope. It is time for real Christian men to take matters into their own hands: it is time for some of that "civil disobedience" the Left so much adored in the Sixties. Just be sure, when you storm the barricades, that the Fox News camera crew is there watching it, and you have a priest ready and willing to administer Last Rites, and somebody who perhaps would know how to reconnect the tubes!

Gov. Jeb Bush's email link is:

Excellent information, Dr. Smith. He must know that we will not pretend his hands are tied. His statements about "as far as the law will allow" has me concerned. The "law" is killing her right now.

Posted by: SMoore at March 19, 2005 1:15 PM

Jeb Bush, right now, has all the authority he needs to save Terri. It is Fla. statutes Chapter 415.1051(2) Emergency Protective Services Intervention.

To date, he has not done it. He didn't do it before when Terri's tube was removed. If he is so concerned about Terri, why doesn't he simply enforce the law? He is fiddling while Rome burns and we need to call him on it!

He has the power and the lawful authority to save Terri. We need to inundate him and remind him of this. Judge Greer cannot prevent Governor Bush from enforcing the laws of the state of Florida. But one has to wonder why Jeb Bush is not enforcing this statute? Surely he knows about it.

I think it's nothing else but a horrible torture and cold blooded murder to cut Terri's
food supply off. What about alheimerz patients,
is their food supply cut off? Her husband, or I
should say her ex-husband should have nothing to
say about it. He's gone on with his life so if
Terri's family want to take care of her they should.
There's more to this story that we don't
really know. What did Terri's husband do to her?
Why does he really want her dead so badly? All I
can say is that he is a cold blooded murderer and
so is that horrible judge. What goes around comes around, one day they or one of their family
members may die of starvation.
WE'RE BEGINNING TO sink lower and lower with all these EVIL judges.

I sent an email off to Mr Jeb Bush asking him to enact Fla. statutes Chapter 415.1051(2) Emergency Protective Services Intervention. Hopefully if he gets enough emails he will realize this may save her.

Thanks. I suspect he probably knows all about this option already, but IF enough people contact him and let him know that WE know, then maybe he might get enough pressure from us to act. He is sitting on his hands for some unknown reason; hopefully the Lord will move his heart so that he will do the right thing. In the meantime, everyone, KEEP CALLING, FAXING, AND E-MAILING!!
