Terri's feeding tube may be reinserted (Update)

Topics: News

Sherri had this to say early this morning:

President Bush Signs the Bill!

Bush has signed the bill.

Terri will be taken to a local hospital for a 90 minute procedure to re-insert her feeding tube. This must be done under anaesthesia, and in her fragile state they must be very careful. The Schindler family attorney stated that after Terri was taken from Woodland Hospice, he would be calling the shots.

We're not sure what he meant, but it sounds like the tide has definitely turned.

I hope this means Terri's feeding tube is back in and that she is getting food and water, but it is not confirmed yet.

You can read Attorney Gibbs' address to supporters here.

Update: This has not been collaborated by other sources

Update: Joshua Claybourn noted our inaccurate headline. Thanks.

The truth of the matter is that once she is taken from the hospice she must be kept away from Michael at all costs. If she survives, the feeding tube is reinserted, and there is even a chance she will have her guardianship given to her parents he will obviously do whatever it takes to make sure she dies and therefore will never be able to speak about what he did to her.

She must be kept away from him!

At this juncture, I think the immediate danger is that Schiavo and Felos will remove Terri to some location where reinsertion of the feeding tube would be impossible. Both Governor Bush and the POTUS can take steps to prevent that. Have they, or do they plan to?

We need an updated video (with the date posted at the bottom when it was taken). Their are rumors circulating that the video's are old and fake. (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/21/national/21view.html)

If a current one was taken, it would clear all doubt whether or not Terri is conscious.

This is a terrible bill, it seems deliberately constructed to fail Constitutional scrutiny.

For all my prayers for Terri this weekend, and all my hope in our Congress and our President, I am sad to say it appears that it was all for show.

Regardless of the ensuing law battle, I just want to see Terri get something to eat. We'll deal with the rest later.

Terri is STILL BEING TORTURED BY STARVATION. We wouldn't treat dogs the way she is being abused.

Thanks Jeb, for doing nothing to protect Terri.

It is impossible to get new footage of Terri because Michael and his attorney aren't allowing it. I believe that she is conscious because why else would they not want the public to see videos of her now?

If you’re going to take the feeding tube out you should be required to make a good faith attempt at feeding her in a natural way i.e. ( bottle fed ) and you should be required to continue to try and feed her I a natural way until she passes on. If you don’t at least do this how would know if she would ever be able to get nourishment in any other way?

People without cerebrums are likely to choke and die that way.

Terry should be left in the loving hands of her parents, we know they want the best for her. We do not know for sure her husband does!! Why isn't his motives questioned more. Common sense tells us he is not interested in her, as he has a new woman and kids from her. Why is everyone taking his word for what Terry said? It should only be taken serious, when it is written down, otherwise, it will be handled with a Judge deciding; without any thought to what husband says. Her sister implied that her illness was in question, in regards to the husband, and also he has money left from previous settlement that he wants to spend, and need
terry dead to do so.

Terry's husband is telling a lie, just so he can spend the left-over settlement money he got several yeas ago. Why are people just beleiving him.? By law, this should only be in black and white written by terry, otherwise, what her husband or any one says, should be considered a lie, for selfish reasons. Very simple. Her husband has proven he does not care about Terry!! What is the matter with people, just believing him!! Normanlly courts want proof, not just words. If he was only interested in Terry, he would have already turned Terry over to those who really do love her, and divorce her at the same time.

It is a sad day when congress must again feel they need to involve themselves in our personal lives. Who saw anybody from congress being as outraged over a pedafile out on patrol that abducted, raped and killed a 9 yr old child in the same state, nowhere, they were too busy working on their political pandering for future votes. What happens next week when the same issue arises again, is congress going to step in each time this happens. As a daughter of a dying man in florida in 2001 who had the make the decision as to whether or not have my father put on a vent I can say it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I knew in my heart my father would not want to live in a constant vegastive state for months and possibly years.
