Suggestion For Protestors In Pinellas Park: Bring your MRI/PET Scan Sign

Topics: Action Items

Reader Jeff wrote us with a good suggestion. First the text of his email"

Is there a way to go on the offensive (beyond blogging) to push the message that the MRI and PET results are prerequisite to diagnosing PVS, and that no such results were used? Isn't there any media group that is willing to report this? Maybe someone bring big posters to the hospice campers that says "WHERE ARE THE MRI & PET RESULTS? HOW DO YOU KNOW SHE'S IN PVS?"

Too many people have taken the initial diagnosis at face value, not knowing that they were lacking the MRI and PET results.

Good point, let's do it - ACTION ITEM:

All you folks headed to Pinellas Park to protest at the hospice make sure that you have a sign that says - WHERE ARE THE MRI & PET RESULTS? HOW DO YOU KNOW SHE'S IN PVS. This will accomplish a lot more than standing there with a piece of red tape over your mouth!

Why doesn't Jeb enforce the law and send in FDLE/DCF to save Terri? He has the authority already!

Posted by: Bryan at March 19, 2005 8:45 AM

Also, why aren't the US Marshals enforcing the congressional invitations/subpoenas? Aren't they supposed to be protecting this witness?

Posted by: Bryan at March 19, 2005 8:59 AM

What has happened to Former Green Beret Commander Lt. Colonel Bo Gritz? Didn't an earlier message say that he had arrived in Pinellas Park with a citizen's arrest warrant?

We also need to hound the media to interview Attorney Barbara Weller who witnessed Terri crying and trying to speak to save herself yesterday. So far, I can find only WorldnetDaily carrying it. I've written to several major TV outlets asking them to get Ms. Weller on and verify the story. We need to plaster the print media too, and perhaps folks in Florida can hound all the media on the scene to get it out. It's a shocking, horrifying, and VERIFIABLE story, that they would do this to this woman, even though she can speak, AND asked to live.

But it's exactly as the Schindler family has been telling us all along. Terri speaks, and nobody listens!!

The problem with the media interviewing the attorney is that the media won't print the truth. They would distort the facts and say that Terri said the opposite of what she said.

I was there at the hospice yesterday. Bo did serve his arrest warrant, but there was a lot of confusion going on at that point and we could not get good information. The info we got after Bo served his warrant is that the US Marshals were going to serve the subpoenas, and so we all were relieved. Then Barbara came out and told us that Terri was excited about going to DC and recounted her "I want to live" story. But then we heard that the tube was going to be removed. A that point, my 11 year old son and I had to leave, so I do not know what Bo was going to do after that. Things were not as organized among us pro-lifers as I would have liked to have seen, but hopefully today they will coordinate a little better. I read that Troy Newman/Operation Rescue was going to risk arrest today by trying to deliver food and water to Terri. Perhaps Bo will be involved in that, but again, where is Jeb Bush and the FDLE/DCF? That is my big question. He already has the authority and responsiblity to take over under Fla. statutes and it amazes me that he is not. The Terri dies, it will be because the GOP let it happen, period.

I live near Washington D.C. Are there any groups lobying/ protesting congress? If not would it be a good idea to organize something? What should I do?

Bryan, Thanks. I am also very frustrated with Governor Jeb Bush. What is he waiting for? Up to this point, does he still need any political cover!

Posted by: Miranda at March 19, 2005 9:40 AM

Here's a thought...Who's willing to fast, at least from food, so long as Terri is being starved?

Posted by: Virginia at March 19, 2005 10:08 AM

Why didnt the judge order there to be a catscan or mri to prove she is in pvs? I find it difficult that this judge is still a judge at all. I am in Oregon and we are praying for you Terri and her family, keep fighting!

Jeb Bush has the lawful authority to save Terri NOW:

Here is the Florida statute that gives Jeb Bush the emergency authority to save Terri!

“2) EMERGENCY PROTECTIVE SERVICES INTERVENTION.--If the department has reasonable cause to believe that a vulnerable adult is suffering from abuse or neglect that presents a risk of death or serious physical injury to the vulnerable adult and that the vulnerable adult lacks the capacity to consent to emergency protective services, the department may take action under this subsection.”

If the US Marshals will not enforce Congressional Subpoenas, then perhaps it is time for the Florida National Guard to do so.

According to the FNG History on its website: "Eighteen times between 1965 and 1985 the Guard was called for service in such situations. A few of those calls were precautionary; Guardsmen were employed to help plan for the contingency of violence, as during major rock music festivals, but most were calls to help quell major riots. The Liberty City riots of May 1980 required the deployment of thousands of Florida Guardsmen. Some rioters and looters died, and fires destroyed much private property. It is occasions such as these that a well trained and led Guard performs its most dangerous and necessary state function. And busy is hardly an adequate word to describe the Florida Guard’s state active service during the first half of the year 1980. Never, in any state at any time, has a state National Guard performed so much active state duty, computed as man-days of service, as the Florida National Guard between January and July of 1980, during the Cuban refugee boatlift and the Liberty City riots."

Riots? Boat Lifts? Rock Music Festivals? Then why not have THEM enforce the Congressional Subpoenas if the US Marshal Office will not?

It is simply shocking to me that Jeb Bush hasn't acted yet. I expected a swift reaction. Thanks Brian for the contact info. This is life we are talking about. This is one battle that needs desparately to be won. This is one of many a day I wish I lived in Florida. I protest at abortion clinics, but this case infuriates me, and I'd be with you guys. Anyway, I'm going to go add one more letter to Jeb's mailbox and one more e-mail to his inbox NOW. We can't wait on this. Also, I think there is something else we need to do to save Terri. Prayer is so powerful. It has saved several LIVES recently at our parish, and it has broght countless from suffering. Prayer saves!

Our politicians have NO COURAGE in the face of manifest evil — this is true in so many ways, showing itself in so many issues, really — but here that fact is brought into big boldface print, big time. The only ones who act on their convictions are the evil ones; the ones who SAY that they stand for the good are nothing but just talk, talk, talk.

Our society is accursed, and Terri's death will all but guarantee the final verdict of Divine Justice upon it....

The system is hopelessly corrupt. It is time for Christian men of real conviction to take the matter into their own hands and do justice for Terri themselves! Be sure, when the barricades are stormed, that you have (1) some camera crews watching [preferably Fox News], (2) a Catholic priest ready to administer Last Rites, (3) some way to feed Terri (reconnect the tubes or whatever), and (4) someone videotaping the whole thing from the inside.

This is the exact reason why we have laws. Lies and deception has been the reason why this women has not had her feeding tube removed. Now she suddenly say "I want to live". Thank God for judge Greer. He should be on United States Supreme court. The people that making up these lies about Terri will get to see her one day again, now that will be one great day.

John David:

You are ignorant of the whole situation. Why don't you educate yourself:

Why are you so anxious to see an innocent woman starve to death?

Posted by: Bryan at March 19, 2005 4:15 PM

No kidding. She's a living person and deserves the same rites as you or me. Would you like it if we starved you? Read up on that too... It's not pleasant at all. Read the "myths about Terri" section of this site. Their claim of "passing into a coma and then peacefully passing away" is not true at all. (That was stated by a lawyer on the FoxNews site). Judge Greer is allowing a woman to be murdered against her will. He's the kind of guy I never want to meet.
