National Women's Group Presents Schiavo Case Facts

Topics: News

Many stories in the media at this time are about Terri Schiavo in Florida. They center on the battle between her parents, who want her to live, and her estranged husband, who was ordered by a judge, in response to Michael's request, to have her feeding tube removed on March 18.

Depending on the media source, many of those stories are giving a one-sided view into Terri's condition and her husband's motive. According to court records, depositions, affidavits, and so on, Michael has acted in the ways outlined in this paper.

Terri has been neurologically disabled since 1990, when her heart stopped and her brain was deprived of oxygen for five minutes. She is physically and mentally handicapped and unable to speak at this point, but she is in no way on the brink of death.

IT IS ABOUT TIME A WOMANS ORGINAZATION HAS OFFERED SOME SUPPORT. I HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES TO SPEAK WITH NOW MEMBERS(NATIONAL ORGINAZATION OF WOMEN) AND HAVE YET TO RECIEVE A RESPONSE. I GUESS A WOMAN BEING STARVED TO DEATH IS NOT AS IMPORTANT AS A GAY WOMANS RIGHTS. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
