Neither could fathom a judge requiring the feeding tube to be removed from anyone that required it and was otherwise in good physical health, but to go further and not allow that person to be fed and hydrated by normal means was, in their exact words, "over the top!" Those words fail to adequately describe what came to my mind this morning when I read the judges order - "no food or water for Terri Schiavo." It's more than over the top, it's judicial homicide! Where is the obstreperous public outcry and the loud exclamations of 'inhumane judicial decree' from the press? Could Terri's parents file a complaint with the local police or prosecutor, or -- ideally -- might the local prosecutor or the Florida attorney general's office throw politics and self-interest out the window and file charges? If this could be pulled off, at least that might be grounds to get him removed from the case. Posted by: James Freeman at March 9, 2005 1:21 PM |

The article reached with your link "resolve to execute" has a correction posted as of this morning March 9, 2005:
"CORRECTION: Due To Erroneous Information To TEJ
Judge George Greer has not yet ruled on the issue of whether Terri Schiavo will be allowed to be given food and water orally if assisted feeding is removed March. 18. We regret this misinformation."
I think some rulings may be released this afternoon.
