Hospice Nurse Fired

Topics: News

I just found out a nurse at the Hospice who was caring for Terri got fired for protesting what is being done to her. More here.

Hannity also mentioned this a few minutes ago.

UPDATE: I'm listening to the Sean Hannity show right now, and he just said he's about to interview this nurse. You can tune in either to the radio or to Hannity's website.

UPDATE: Hannity just said the nurse he's about to interview was warned she'll get fired if she talks to him. She is going to do it anyway. She might be a different nurse than the one reported as being fired. I'll try to stay on top of this.

UPDATE: Her name is Nora Lynn Wagner. It seems she was first fired from the hospice for declining to sign a petition decrying Congress' actions over the weekend. Later the agency she is with told her she would lose her job with them if she talked to Hannity. "Then consider me fired."

FINAL UPDATE: More information available here.

Then this is the second nurse to be terminated by Hospice over concerns re: Terri. Ms. Iyer was fired when nursing director learned that she had gone to police about the husband's abuse - AFTER they themselves said they would take care of it and report to DCF!! Again, contact Hospice jfelts@hospicenet.org with this addional story of what is going on at this Florida hospice.

Hospice Nurse Caring For Terri Schindler-Schiavo Fire. She protested procedures done against Terri Schindler-Schiavo. There a law called the Hippo Law that makes it legal to fire her. Hey Lou Dobbs, there is evidence Terri can drink by mouth. A Nobel Prize Doctor who specializes in people like Terri will testify in court Terri is in better shape than Tom Schiavo's paid off doctor's say. He and this nurse who cared for Terri are willing to testify under oath!!!! don't let this woman be a spiritual Auswhitz death!!! Tom Schiavo has had children by another woman. What is wrong with this picture? Judy Woodruff wake up!!!! I heard you subtilly drum up support for Terri. common CNN!

Isn't there an accrediting organization for hospices, and if there is, where are they? From what I've read about this hospice thus far, the care they provide is not up to community standards of practice, to say they least!! Why is this hospice allowed to continue business??

Audio up now- http://www.austinsblog.com

This nurse sounds like a wonderful person. Risking her job for Terri.

The law is called HIPPA - Health Information Privacy Protection Act. It's a great big Bozo No-No to publicly discuss the condition or treatment of a patient. The hospice and the agency both have existing policies on it that provide for termination.

I'd be surprised if the policy *requires* immediate termination, however.

I've emailed this post to Hugh Hewitt and his producer - his show begins shortly, and at least the first hour will be on Terri's fight.

Remember, our fight is not against flesh and blood - PRAY!
