Letter sent to And emailed to the Mayor, Vice Mayor, and City Council of Pinellas Park (bmischler@, rbutler@, sbradbury@ and bcorna@pinellas-park.com) =============================
As a person in government service, you share the duty to "Uphold the Constitution, laws, and regulations of the United States and of all governments therein and never be a party to their evasion" by the Code of Ethics of Government Service (Public Law 96-303, passed unanimously by Congress in 1980). All police officers are also sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America. However, officers in your city are being ordered to violate the Constitution -- by enforcing a contested court ruling that unlawfully denies Terri Schiavo equal rights and protections afforded to other citizens. Unlike other cases, where legal conflicts can continue to be challenged despite a contested ruling, Terri is being denied the right to food, water, and medical care while her family petitions the Governor. This error will cost Terri her life if she is not removed to safety until the conflict can be resolved. Thus, her disability is limiting her right to due process, and should be accommodated for during the proceedings. As written in the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: All citizens retain the inalienable right to defend personal religious convictions, and as Governor Jeb Bush has demonstrated, there are officers who believe in enforcing Constitutional laws first, before court orders that violate them, until the conflict can be resolved peacefully. Please call a meeting with the Mayor, Chief of Police and the Governor's Office to address and resolve contradictory orders being given to police, in violation of the Constitution, which all officers of the law, the court, and the government are sworn to defend for all citizens, regardless of disability. As a representative of the public interest, and in your capacity as a person in government service, you can act to enforce the Constitution to prevent the loss of life while an erroneous court order continues to be addressed and may be lawfully corrected. Yours very truly, All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and CODE OF ETHICS FOR GOVERNMENT SERVICE Any person in Government service should: I. Put loyalty to the highest moral principles and to country above loyalty to persons, party, or Government department. II. Uphold the Constitution, laws, and regulations of the United States and of all governments therein and never be a party to their evasion. 1 TIMOTHY 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
In the case of Terri Schiavo, I am sorry that law enforcement agents were ordered to violate Constitutional laws, by submitting instead to erroneous court authority denying equal protection of inalienable rights. Thank you for proving the terrorists wrong. America is not a country of infidels. We are worse. The only thing that saves us is God's grace. May God forgive our trespasses, guide us to correct our faults, and heal the self-inflicted wounds of political conflict. May Terri's suffering and sacrifice not be in vain, but inspire the nation to end the epidemic of judicial abuse of authority, especially in probate and custody cases. Yours truly, Posted by: emilynghiem at March 28, 2005 1:16 AM I need some help. I came across a site where Terri's name and picture are being exploited. A group pf people really find it funny to demean Terri and her entire family. Is there anything we can do? Posted by: Anonymouse at March 28, 2005 5:41 PM It's so very hard to understand, A murderer at least gets a trial, The courts are forcing her to die. This is a Government sanctioned killing, Why does Michael Schiavo want her dead? This man will go down in history, I guess it just shows the extent, I believe he took Terri Schaivo out, Come on people, no video for five years. And just what can be said about Judge Greer, This whole thing reeks of conspiracy. It's as though Greer had something to gain, I wish someone would stop this homicide, Posted by: Van at March 29, 2005 4:23 AM |
