Where Do I Begin?
Topics: General
So you want to help save a life, but you don't know where to start?
We all started in the same boat. In fact, until a couple of weeks ago, I had myself forgotten all about the Terri Schiavo case. Richard contacted me to let me know about Terri and asked if I would be interested in her case. "Of course," I said, remembering the story of the girl in Florida whose family loved her so that they've spent the last fifteen years struggling to secure her right to live. I had no idea, though, about the things I know now that have filled me with the fire, the passion to DO SOMETHING!
You should know these things too. I've heard from dozens of people just in the last couple of days who once thought it was an issue of allowing a brain-dead "vegetable" to die with dignity, so to speak. This is clearly and undeniably NOT the case. Terri is neither brain-dead, nor "vegetative"; in fact, she laughs, smiles, responds to people, and can track objects with her eyes when asked to. Does this sound like a brain-dead woman to you? We don't know if her brain is at the level of a baby, a child, or a young woman, but we know she is brain damaged and cannot speak or eat. When people learn this, they are taken by surprise--and when they learn even more, they are shocked that there's a question as to whether she should live.
Learn the story of Terri Schiavo. Go to terrisfight.org to start.
See also Richard's blog, Hyscience, as he has spearheaded the blogs for Terri blogburst, and has all the latest information from the family.
ProLife Blogs has a news aggregator that shows entries from the blogs that are on the BlogsForTerri blogroll.
Read the blogs on the blogroll; there is a wide variety of personal accounts of changing viewpoints and personal experiences as nurses, doctors, clergymen, and just regular people's thoughts.
Please, join our fight to save Terri's life!

» Shiavo's Wife is Actually Conscious! from ArmyofGod.org
Contrary to what news reports suggest (that Terri is in a "vegetative state," which I thought meant brain dead), Terri is conscious! She laughs, smiles, responds to people and can track objects with her eyes. I can't believe I just... [Read More]
