Press Conference to Follow Terri Schiavo Court Hearing Tomorrow

Topics: News

Bob and Mary Schindler, Terri's Schindler Schiavo's parents, and their attorney David Gibbs will hold a press conference immediately following their Monday, February 21, court hearing before Judge Greer. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM.

Although not present at the press conference in Clearwater, Disability Expert Joni Eareckson Tada provided the Schindler family with the following statement: "Thousands of Americans with disabilities understand the gravity of Terri's situation. We know that if every last legal safeguard around this brain-injured woman is dismantled, if every option is exhausted, then all of us are exposed, all of us are left vulnerable. And all of us will have to swim against the mounting tide of public opinion that Terri's demise will reinforce, that one is 'better off dead than disabled.' We must not, we cannot let this happen." -- Joni Eareckson Tada, JAF International Disability Center
